There is enormously changed situation in 3,000 in the end of Qing and early Republic . Ii RuiQing maintained the Qing Dynasty's governance, rather than change his own original intention and cooperated with the new dynasty. He wanted to be a cultural Yimin who was officeholder of the former dynasty and still stayed loyal to their dynasty. Meanwhile he has more sober understanding to the current political situation at that time, know that Qing Dynasty had been already moribund, and was doomed to death. Second, after the Qing Dynasty was overthrown , though Ii RuiQing was very poor for he lost the economic source, he still unwillingly accepted the present given by the new goverment. So he sold his works of painting and calligraphy to maintain his family. The ideas of chasing profit contradicted with the traditional gentleman's idea of making light of profit. The contradiction psychology was caused by living environment.He was devoted to educating in all his life. He had not given up this kind of faith, even retired from the world in Shanghai, though not resolving adequate food and clothing by himself. He has adopted the western structure of education and broken the traditional educational pattern in the educational reform . Li RuiQing was completely an executor of the idea "Chinese Cultures as basis;Western Cultures as subsidiary" .He was a new-type founder of normal school and an great qualified educationist. He did not cooperate with the new government after the Qing Dynasty was overthrown. In this period of time, Ii RuiQing went to Shanghai ,then he became the leader of the metal and stone shool.
