When we make a general survey of the history of Chinese ideology, We'll find that later Ming Dynasty is one of the most active and important period in the ancient China's ideological sphere.The famous philosopher WangYangming carries on predecessors'theory such as Zhuxi's and LuJiuyuan's theory,constructs a new conscience theory of mind.Wang's mind theory emphasizes self-esteem and independence and blows a fierce wind over Ming Dynasty's academic circles.From the first years of Jiajing,Wang's mind theory exerts a great influence in society and evolved a philosophical trend that emphasizes self-esteem and independence.In today's academic world,it's usually called the trend of mind theory in Ming Dynasty.In that period,the trend soon enters the literary world and influnences the theory of literarture gradually and profoundly.This thesis studies the commentary of Shuihuzhuan inscribed at Rongyutang in Hangzhou in Ming Dynasty.The angle to examine this problem is Wangyangming's mind theory which is the main trend as the commentary was born. So the objective of this study is to explore the unique aesthetic values and inclinations that influenced by the trend of mind theory in Ming Dynasty. The whole text is composed of seven sections. The introduction, as the first part, introduces the motives from writing the passage briefly. The second part, as the first chapter, explores the relations between the commentaries and the trend of mind theory. The following second, third and fourth chapter make some explorations respectively about Luzhishen ,Songjiang and Likui whose images are creatively interpreted under the effect of the ideological trend. The fifth chapter studies the esstential sense of reality that pursued by thecommentary in aesthetics. The last part is Ending Words.The conclusion of this thesis: The features of the mind theory in Ming Dynasty is the main ideological inclinations of the commentary on Shuihuzhuan inscribed at Rongyutang in Hangzhou in Ming Dynasty. The inclinations are of certain values to make a thorough study on the commentary and other related commentaries on novels and operas. Moreover,the commentaries on images of LuZhishen, SongJiang and LiKui also have special significances for recongnizing the later Ming's culture. In the meanwhile, the commentaries make great contribution to establish the three images' aesthetic contents.Last but not least, when comes to the concept of literary criticism,the commentary has a special fondness for the sense of reality, which reaches the highest level before the mature of the commentary on novels. When the commentor talks about the sense of reality, he puts forward a series of odd but pioneering questions.
