There is nothing in the world that is wholly new. Anything, just like the old, must rely on the same principles, the same resources and the same rules. Here it is crucial what form should creative thought take on when new creative activities emerge from in the old field. Since 20th century, Chinese watercolor paintings keeps absorbing nutrition from the watercolor in overseas, and enrich itself with the Chinese culture traditions, which has been promoted by the appliance of all sorts of new materials and man' s unconscious perception, so that the artistic theories of water painting are highlighted. Though, in the process of water painting development, explorations of the art of new age, which are influenced by psychology, philosophy, modern science and forms and content of the future arts, are gradually deepened and strengthened, up to now it still has its own defects, the most important is that since there has been no enough study on its ontological language, it is hard to grasp the possible effects of watercolor painting colorings. The fact that the possible effects are beneficial to represent institution is caused by the complementary qualities of them, but up to now there are still some people not paying enough attention to institution. Actually, the current perception of institution in water painting can lead us to face the mission of water painting creation naturally. Considering the current situation of water painting and the needs of the age, it is necessary to talk about the development and the popular thinking pattern of water painting. This study, based on the development of water painting and materials as the essential theoretical foundations, starts from the special form of perception, institution, and aims to improve painter' s thoughts of the art to broaden their vision. Since many choices by a particular individual or certain sort of person must have its strong external motives-cultural, social and psychological, then how to view and solve the problem of institution becomes the focus of the thesis.
