This thesis, adopting traditional method of literature science, on the basis of collecting and regulating a great deal of historical accounts of past events and fully absorbing the research achievements, from the cultural foundation, reveals the foreign music's and foreign dance's influences on the poem creation of Tang Dynasty, which is the result of cultural exchange, and scholars' poem expression on and the foreign music and the foreign dance in Tang Dynasty in order to give a example for the research of the foreign cultural influence on the development of literature.This thesis has four chapters, its content is as follows:The first chapter, an introduction, defines the related concept briefly, poses the question on the basis of synthetically analyzing present research situation and reviews the dissemination situation of pre-Tang's foreign music and foreign dance.Since the 20th centuries, the research on the foreign music and the foreign dance mainly includes the research on the foreign music and the foreign dance themselves, the dissemination of the foreign music and the foreign dance and their social influence, the appreciation of the foreign dance poems in Tang Dynasty and the related the foreign music and the foreign dance in the course of the research on a certain writers and their works. Taking a broad view of these, the research regarding the foreign music and the foreign dance as a foreign cultural phenomenon, discussing their influences on the development of literature still doesn't carry out generally. In consideration of these, this thesis discusses this problem systematically.The second chapter, discussing the dissemination and accept of the foreign music and the foreign dance in early and prosperous Tang Dynasty, has three sections. Section 1 discusses the foreign music's and foreign dance's influences on the different classes. The thesis, taking Emperor Taizong (Li shi-min) and Emperor Xuanzong (Li long-ji) as typical examples, studies emperors' and their ministers' fond and promotion to the foreign music and the foreign dance in early and prosperous Tang Dynasty; taking musical instrument as the a individual case and by the phenomenon that the frequency of describing ancient piano and Pipa decreases and increases in scholars' poems, goes a step further to promulgate the foreign music's and foreign dance's popular situation in imperial palace and scholar's life in early and prosperous Tang Dynasty. Section 2, by discussing the foreign music suggestion and its way of application, reveals its distinctive function in some respects such as reclaiming boundary poem's theme, composing its artistic conception, containing its emotion, etc. Section 3, discusses the prosperous Tang Dynasty's scene from foreign dance's prevalence. From the cultural view, it is, by studying the Strong dance and the Soft-beautiful dance in Jiaofangji and Yuefuzalu, a abroad and all-embracing display ofcultural spirit. At the same time, from the prevalence of the Jianqihuntuo dance testimonies its diversify and continuation.The third chapter expounds the foreign music's and foreign dance's influences on the poem creation in the prosperous and late Tang Dynasty. On the one hand, then-music sound and dance feature arouse poets' inspiration, on the other hand, considering social reality, poets who create the new Yuefu poems, viewing the foreign music and the foreign dance as a foreign cultural symbol, repel it and by it satirize the reality. Thus, the social influence recounting human relations and discussing public order is brought.Conclusion and remaining. The conclusion summarizes the former three chapters. The foreign music and the foreign dance penetrate in every fields in social life from the feudal emperor, kinsman of the emperor to scholars and common people. The fond of the rulers promotes the dissemination of the foreign music and foreign dance. At the same time, they both enrich the court and folk life and affect literature creation more or less.
