When he learns a foreign language, he is often affected by his first language. The similarity between the target language and the mother language can expedite the study, while the difference between them disturbs the study. To master both the similarity and the difference and to emphasize the difference can help enhance the efficiency of teaching and the foreign language level of the students. This article compares some items about degree category in Korean and Chinese.Chapter one introduces the research purpose, the need of contrastive study, the latest researches and the research range. The research range covers adverbs of degree, complements of degree and the lively forms of adjectives. The specific research ranges of the adverb of degree covers 28 adverbs of degree of level A, B, C and D listed in Outline of Vocabulary of Chinese Language Level. The research range of complement of degree covers 19 words listed in the same book and divided by Yisheng Zhang. Adjectives of quality with AA style and adjectives of status with AB style are mainly discussed in the research of lively forms of adjectives.Chapter two discusses and compares the expressive ways of degree in Korean and Chinese, which mainly compare the adverb of degree, complement of degree and the lively forms of adjective. The complements of degree are translated into corresponding Korean complements of degree. The complements of degree are translated into adverbial of degree , terminations plus auxiliary adjectives (?). Lively forms of adjective are translated into adverbs of degree plus adjectives, adjectives which express higher degrees (adjectives beginning with ?), and adjectives with overlapping forms. Some are translated into adjectives, however this doesn't mean an enhancementof degree, which should be paid attention to during teaching.Chapter three compares the usages of adverb of degree in Korea and China, and analyzes the similarity and difference between them. The differences lie in emotional coloring, style coloring, grammatical function and syntax function.Chapter four summarizes the research and offers suggestions on teaching Chinese to Korean.
