With China's increasing economic development, we are having more and more contacts and communications with the outside world, especially at the cultural level. During the process of cultural exchange and intercommunication, translation as an indispensable medium plays a very important role. This thesis centers on the C-E translation of culturally-loaded Chinese terms (CLCTs). Translatability of such terms has always been a controversial issue among translators and translation theorists holding different viewpoints. But the same functions of languages, the sharing of the same material world and the thinking similarity of all peoples have laid a solid foundation for the possible translation of these terms. What we are confronted with is how to grasp their overall quintessence, weigh the important factors, and adopt flexible translation methods so as to appropriately render these culturally-loaded terms. Furthermore, in this thesis we shall elaborate on translation principles, methods and the factors worth considering with abundant examples showing how to translate CLCTs in the best possible ways.
