This thesis studies "xiaoxin(小心)X" imperative sentence. According to the inspection, this sentence has three patterns: 1. xiaoxin + NP; 2. xiaoxin + VP; 3. xiaoxin + (NP+VP), and conveys two major semantic types: "tixing" and "jinggao". The thesis, firstly, discusses the characteristics of this sentence in meaning, analyses its respective features in the structure, and then probes into the restriction factors of the different semantic patterns by way of "from nei (meaning) to wai (structure) ". On the base of the analyses, it comes to a conclusion that which semantic type "xiaoxin X" imperative sentence conveys depends on its distributional environment and the semantic feature of X. Secondly, the thesis discusses the pragmatic strength of "xiaoxin X" imperative sentence. A summary of the content and several theoretical thoughts are given in the end.
