《Dragongs Carved in the Heart of Literature》 is a kind of literary theory of most systematic, scholarly and national in our Chinese ancient. Scholars of ancient and morden study its literary ideas and esthetic tendency thoroughly and systematicly .They deduce various conclusions from various literary degrees and visual angles.This text chooses a certain category- "Affections-Coloration" and the relation between "Affections" and "Coloration" to give profound and subtle explanation, putting it on the platform of Chinese culture and philosophy and giving it the sustain of ideological history . This text tries to discuss the function of "Affections-Coloration" and give it an appropriate position in the whole work, basing on the system of text.Generally speaking, this text describes the following four aspects mainly:First, the discovery of "Affections-Coloration". This part is to mainly investigate: How Liuxie transformed philosophical conception "Pattern-Substance" to literary category "Affections-Coloration" and how he enriched "Affections" in literature, put forward "taking the affections and intent as the element of spiritual understanding" and emphasized affections in literary creation is affections infiltrating rational elements. Besides, Liuxie tried to promote the value of beautiful form, held that literary creation must "compose words and form coloration" and stressed the importance of "coloration" in literary words.Second,the enlightment of "Language-Concept". There are three groups of "Language-Concept" made great contribution in philosophy field and influenced literary theory profoundly and subtly. By doing so ,1 hope we can find that the wisdom of "Language-Concept" delicately enlightened the dealing with "Affections-Coloration" and manifest Liuxie" s wisdom to deal with "Affcetions-Coloration" influenced by "Language-Concept".Third, "Grasp the mind and nourish its techniques" -transforming literary theory into practice. Practice is the touchstone of theory. Liuxie promoted "Grasp the mind and nourish its techniques" when he analyzed "Affcetions-Coloration". "Grasp the mind and nourish its techniques" was the demanding for writer's learning and accomplishment,which will provide practical operation for the solution of "Language-Concept". Liuxie implemented the supreme state of rhetoric-the training of writer's accomplishments-" Grasp the mind and nourish its techniques " and analyzed it in full scale.Forth, the Ideal literature-from "The Image of the hexagram Ben treats whiteness as the ultimate color" to "Natural". "The Image of the hexagram Ben treats whiteness as the ultimate color" was Liuxie"s expression for the supreme state of utilizing "Coloration", and this combined directly with his ideal literature- "Natural". Liuxie believed that "human pattern" "heaven pattern" and "earth pattern" were all "the pattern of the Way"-the appearance of the natural course of things. So the aesthetic characteristic of literature has its rationality and necessity. The beauty of literature is bound to artifical beauty . "Literature comes from nature", "nature" here does not mean returning literature to natural state such as mountain and river, sun and moon, tiger and leopard. In literature , "Natural" emphasizes its spontaneous as natural beauty-the intention appeared spontaneously.
