The Design Innovation Based On Nanotechnology

The futurist predicted that nanotechnology would totally change the living conditions of human beings in the new century. Nanotechnology will have great influence upon product design, which will result in a series of innovation and it will form design culture of nanotechnology era.Nano-material is the most important and basic aspect of the research in nanotechnology. Material is the foundation which brings the innovation of design, it is also the most important carrier in the design expression. This dissertation will merely discuss the influence on the product design by the nanotechnology.This dissertation includes four parts. The first chapter summarizes the significance of nanotechnology and the effect on product design.The second chapter discusses the influence of nanotechnology on products design. The advancement and novelty of material design is the main factor to evoke the design innovation. The method in the function design merging material will alter the design idea based on functionalism in the design of traditional products. The intelligent idea of material design provides technical support for the design and production of intelligent products will result in comfort and safety of people's living conditions. The ecological idea will truly embody the sustainable development in design idea and realize it in human society.The third chapter mainly surrounds the ecological characteristics of nano-material and the manufacturing mode of nano-products, the sustainable development in design concepts as well as the high-tech and art of products design have been discussed in this dissertation in nanotechnology era.The fourth chapter analyse the social factors affecting the design culture and the possible design fashion in nanotechnology era. The main design styles of nanotechnology era will be high-tech, high-emotion, restore ancient, regression, humanity and multivariate design.It is remarkable for this dissertation that it obeys the order from design practice to design theory ,then design culture. Emphasis has been put on the discussion of design idea> design theory and design culture based on the nanotechnology, which will be beneficial to the product design in the coming technology revolution.
