Zhang Huiyan (1761-1802), whose hometown is Wujin of Jiangsu, could also be called Gaowen. In his short life of 42 years, he established the Ci Poetry School of Changzhou and the Literature School of Yanghu, and he even became the icon of Classics School of Changzhou. He edited the Anthology of Ci Poetry and composed the Mingke Ci Poetry. He gave the field of ci poetry a fresh vitality in the late stage of Qing. His prose was enlisted distinctly one of the top eight masters in Ming and Qing. His study on Yi was the classics summit at that time.This thesis tries to emphasize the achievement in Ci of Zhang Huiyan from the angle of his being a composer of ci. The author will study the situation how he initiated and developed the Ci School of Changzhou so much as the whole field of ci in the late stage of Qing. Meanwhile, the author will explore the influence of his thoughtway of classics and eassy on him.The thesis includes three sections:Section â…  : The introduction. It concerns many factors which influence on Zhang Huiyan including history, geography and reality.Section â…¡ : The theory of ci poetry of Zhang Huiyan. It concerns the reasons why he could be a master in those time.Section â…¢:The analysis of Mingke Ci Poetry of Zhang Huiyan. It concerns the style of songcraft of Ci Poetry School of Changzhou by analysing some classic writings.
