On The Thoughts Of Heidegger's Ontological Aesthetics

CONTENT: Undoubtedly, Martin Heidegger(1889--1976) was one of the top figures in the history of philosophy and aesthetics, even in the history of humanities and social sciences as a whole. During his life, Heidegger's academic interests and topic were, we may say, to question the meaning of being, based upon which, he deconstructed and overthrew traditional ontology. However, his deconstruction and overthrowing is not in the negative sense, rather, he was in a positive sense to bring into being ontology, which can grasp the spirits of the time. My thesis, starting from the question in Heidegger's time that how to develop ontology, divides traditional ontology into two broad stages, and then, generalize Heidegger's foundational idea "the thought of being" as "foundation ontology "and "universal unity". They are not two entities, but two landmarks in Heidegger's exploration into the possibility of ontology. They are not clearly cut, but rather, they are in the same road and both the thoughts of ontology, while the latter has a step forward in a primitive sense. My thesis holds that Heidegger's "foundational ontology " is an ontology integrated with "being as truth", "being as virtue", "being as beauty", "being as holiness", and "being as saying". In other words, Heidegger put truth, virtue, beauty, holiness, saying into ontology. Because of this, in my thesis, the aesthetics thoughts of Heidegger' ontology are discussed from two facets, one is the internal relatedness between Heidegger's ontology and aesthetics. From his ontology, aesthetics orientation can be dimly discerned. The other is the integration of Heidgger' ontology thoughts with truth, virtue, beauty and saying. So it is academically true that Heidegger's ontological aesthetics thought is a comprehensive pure unity. Specifically, the content of Heidegger's ontology aesthetics can be summarized thus: arts as the generation and the origin of truth, beauty as the shinning of being, Language in the beginning is poetry, poetry creation is residing and holiness is the measurement of poetry creation. It is worthy of noticing that those elements are inter-merging. The study of Heidegger's ontological aesthetics thought is of great significance practically as well as academically.
