During the Ming and the Ching Dynasty, the thought of solid learning had appeared. The study about military learning which was one of the solid learning had attained a peak.The talks about warfare given by scholars were a special cultural phenomenon. This dissertation has done a systematic research and has studied the historical context and main content on the military thought of Wei Xi. The aim lay in offering service for further studying the latter Ming Dynasty scholars' statecraft thought.and learning change between the Ming Dynasty and Ching Dynasty.Wei Xi had not only been a famous writer in Ching Dynasty, but also had a great studying on military stratagems . We can find his military thought from a serious of comments about war in "The collection of essays of Wei Shu-zi ".That is, the cautious opinion of war; the setting up and administering troops' theory about cautious selecting general officer, emphasizing training and strict acts; the tactical principle about gaining the initiative by striking first, emphasizing stratagems, preparedness averts peril; emphasizing the multitude's action in the war; emphasizing the spy work and studying for the military geography.This dissertation thinks that the military thought of Wei Xi is the inheritance and development of Sunzi's thought and it pushes the development of the thought about statecraft in order to apply it in the early part of the Ching Dynasty; as for its negative influence, the Confucian scholar prejudice in the talks about warfare given by Wei Xi disadvantages the development of the military theories.
