In different kinds composition books of college, there are different definition to the term of second person. By analyzing, we can see that this dispute originates from the different definition of person.There are three kinds of condition about the definition of person in those books. It takes the observation-point as the essence of person in the first condition. In the second condition, it takes the personal pronoun, which denotes the narrator, as the Symbol of person. The third takes the appellation, which is to the expressed objects, to differentiate the person. Just for the different criterion, it makes the term person contained three differentiate meaning; also it makes the meaning of person confused, in fact ,the narrator is a term in the narratology. The observation-point is a term, which derived from narratology.it, is called narrator's stand-point also. According the suppositional narrator's stand-point to the related tale scene, it is differentiated into inner observation-point or outside observation-point. Then there is no second -person. But those' who definite person by the criterion of appellation believe that there is the second -person in works, they study the works from the view of geist, intuition and whole, they emphasize different impression which is from different personal pronoun, from their view, there is the second -person in works, so, what they said is reasonable.By analyzing we can see that there are different functions and bound for the observation-point, appellation and narrator in the study of works. In fact, defining the person by the criterion of observation-point or narrator is the inbreak of west literature criticism method to our country's, so, the dispute about the second -person issued from the confused concept during the intercourse of two kinds of method that are based on two kinds f culture. It is necessary and advisable for the intercourse between different culture and method. But we must put in order the confused term, which is come into being during the intercourse. Otherwise, those terms can make the theory expression blur and confused.As seeing this situation and knowing the relationship between observation-point, appellation and narrator to person, we should know if it is correct in logic term of all this three kinds of persons at first So we can eliminate the person in the term of narrator. Secondly, by compare the observation-point theory and the appellation theory, we can see that it is unnecessary for the person, which is in the term of observation-point, in the practical study of works. Also we can see that it is necessary for the second -person, which is in the term of appellation, so it is correct to discriminate the different person by the appellation and take this kind of person as a expressing tip. also, this kind of person's used bound should be adjusted from tale only to all expression manners, then the discuss about person should be put in the part of expression tips. At last, we should introduce the narratology's narrate-pattern into our teaching material, and put it in the part of narrate to replace the former person which is in the term of observation-pointBy doing this, we not only can clarify the meaning of person, but also can inherit our country's literature criticism idea and adopt west's literature criticism method.
