In the Mid-Qing Dynasty, great changes took place in GuangXi, which was reg.vded as an uncivilized area. Guangxi enjoyed stable society, prosperous economy, and a large-scale improvement in politics, economy and culture, especially in literature, whose level was close to the Central Plains. Such gratifying achievements were undoubtedly the contribution of the diligent work of GuangXi poets and writers. People beyond GuangXi also spared no efforts to the development of Guangxi's politics economy, and culture among who XeiQikun was one of'those who made great contribution to the development of GuangXi.XieQikun(1737-1802)was from NanKang of Jiangxi provice. In 1799, he was in charge of GuangXi, during whose tenure of office, he, from GuangXi's real situation did a lot good to the GuangXi people and promoted the development of GuangXi's economy, politics and society, by looking into civil affairs, making innovations of maladministration, and ligtening up people's burdens.He also showed great concer to culture and the General History of GuangXi modified and edited by him was regarded as the model of general history with an everlasting contribution to the development of the cultural Cause of GuangXi. As a result, It's necessary to make a systematic collationanel study his life, thoughts, works in order to let people today understand the history nd culture of GuangXi in the Qing Dynasty.Shujing House Poems on History is the essence of XieQikun, who was regarded as the best achiever of poems by Zang Lishu.Shujing House Poems on History, with its high value on literature, history and art not only takes up a high position in his own literature works, but also is of great significance in the development of Poems on History, worthy of a deep research by the later generations.
