The Latter Criticism After May4th Movement

This thesis is based on the maginzines of Xueheng and Guofeng,in the process of Chinese society transforming towards modern, unden the condition of turbulance of Easter and West culture.The thesis pays more attention to being placed in the cultural conservatism of "edge" position- Liu Yizheng ,who is how to choose own culture reason road and abide by own cultural view.The thesis thinks that the cultural view of Liu Yizheng includes four aspects. Firstly, it is the Confucius view, Liu Yizheng thinks that Confucius is the center of the Chinese culture. Secondly, it is the ethics of Liu Yizheng's. He looks on Chinese traditional five ethics as "eternal of human feelings", whose essence is "advoct the person's mutual aid, promote the person's mutual aid, maintain the person's mutual aid". Thirdly, it is the history view of "caring for application", the core of which lies in the application of history. "Abide by tradition" is only one superficial phenomenon .Fourthly, Liu Yizheng opposes to Chinese culture completely learning towards the West, on the contrary, he puts towards Chinese culture transforming into the West and look for the theory from the history. This incline of Liu Yizheng's toward the traditional cultural idea obviously is opposite to the New Culture Movement of the May 4th,which means to correct the disadvantages for the May 4th movement. Under the condition of the national crisis of 30's increasingly serious, Liu Yizheng's culture conservatism is combined with the strong principle of nationalism.The reason of Liu Yizheng abiding by Chinese tradition culture lies in, on the one hand, the experience of his youth which molds his filial morality, sticks to traditional thoughts; On the other hand, under the influence of numerous teachers...
