Gaogouri relics are widely distributed throughout 'Jilin province' and 'Liaoning province' in China, whole area of North Korea, and even 'Chungcheongbuk province' and 'Gyeongsangbuk province' that are the middle area of Korea. These geographical conditions have been big obstacles in studying Gaogouri archaeology systematically, and until now the study of Gaogouri archaeology also has been limitedly researched because of three country's separate situation. The study of Gaogouri earthenware began in the mid 1980s, but there was no significant result until the late 1990s. The synthetic exam for Gaogouri earthenware begin afresh from the late 1990s, but there is still lack of understanding about Gaogouri earthenware excavated in North Korea and South Korea because Gaogouri relics unearthed in China especially in 'Ji an' are only researched as materials for study. Now Gaogouri earthenware excavated in North Korea cannot be examined practically, and there are also lacks of reports or professional research outcome about the earthenware attribute. Delicate clayey soil was mainly used as basic soil and a potter's wheel was generally applied as a making tool. Yellow and grey are main color of earthenware (Yellow one is majority, but grey one is also relatively many). The fact that the color of earthenware is mainly divided into yellow and grey explains there were two ways in burning. But, shape-engraved earthenware is limited in several types,...
