Epistemological Research On Tradition Of Art Culture

Currently within art research it is of great importance to enhance the basic theory of art culture. Systematical marshalling and studying on traditions of art culture are the focuses of the research on the basic theory of art culture. What is the existing state of the traditions of art culture? How to classify between the structure and category of art cultural tradition and what are these rules of its generation and evolution? To solve these problems, it is prerequisite to establish the notion of art cultural tradition, and get theoretical support from epistemology. Taking art culture as its macroscopical subject, this research establishes respectively the notion of art cultural tradition and the connotation of epistemology in art culture from an epistemological perspective. The existence of art cultural tradition is contradictory rather than simply a state of presence. It is not true that all the issues on art culture in history can be categorized as art cultural tradition, unless they possess temporal and doctrinal connotations. Similarly, these exists no art cultural tradition that is absolutely positive in nature. The structure of art cultural tradition is complex and multidimensional rather than linear, which contain not only self-disciplinary categories as visualization, mentality, systematization, generation-evolution, but also heteronomous categories. The catalyst of the generation and evolution of art cultural tradition is the need of human beings. The generation of art cultural tradition is the consequence of the accumulation and transition of human art culture from generation to generation. Different connotations of art culture in different periods have made art cultural tradition abundant; the interaction of the subject, object and media of cognition play as stimulus of evolution in art cultural tradition. Generally speaking, from the perspective of art philosophy, the establishment of system and theories of art cultural tradition can made people cherish their art cultural tradition, facilitate the advancement of art research, benefit people in forming a positive notion of art cultural tradition when doing practice and exploration in art, and most importantly, boost the sustainable transition and evolution of art culture within a nation.
