"You State" has a long history and a stable region. It has already been existing for a long time as the name of a geographical region and can be documented. It has been one of the so-called twelve states of China from immemorial time. Its region scope was never stopping changing , and in later dynasties, it was also set up or belonged to another state or was canceled , but it is located in northeast of China as a whole, which is constant from ancient time.In the fifth year of Yuanfeng (BC106) of Hanwu emperor in Western Han Dynasty, Hanwu Emperor originally set up 13 states and You State began to be a local administrative unit; In Eastern Han Dynasty developed anexact system of state-shire-county. You State spanned Western HanDynasty and Eastern Han Dynasty for over 300 years, when You State itself and its governed shires experienced a complicated and changing process, and its boundary ever covered large parts of Liaoning Province, parts of Peking and Hebei Province, Mongolia, South and North Korea' s regions, and even pars of Shan' xi Province. The article describes the You State' s establishment and evolution, emphasizing on its geographical change and adjustments in administrative concept, whose time scope is defined from Western Han Dynasty to Eastern Han Dynasty.Besides preface and postscript, this article is made of three parts. Part One is the most important, covering and concretely describing the establishment and evolution of You State and its governed shires, and at the same time, introducing You State' s population; Part two respectively analyses the historical and political reasons for You State' s establishment and evolution; Part three makes a abbreviated conclusion according to the article and expresses my wish that experts and scholars revised it.
