Preschool period is very significant for the mental quality's production and cultivation, which has been proved in different ways by the researches both in the brain science and the psychological science. However, because the mental quality's definition, content, and developmental characteristics etc. of the young children have not been known properly, neglecting exploiting and promoting preschoolers' mental potentials, the education of mental quality has mainly aimed at the individuals and been limited to the education of mental healthy and mental adaptation. According to the existed literatures, there have been little analysis which integrates both theory and experiments together, and correspondingly, there is lack of appropriate measurement.In view of these problems above, the targets of the present researches are as follows: (1) disclosing the main components of preschoolers' mental quality objectively, (2) composing Preschoolers' Mental Quality Questionnaire for Completion by Teacher with both high reliability and validity; (3) exploring the developmental characteristics of preschoolers' mental quality.The procedures are as follows: (1) constructing a theoretical structure model based on the literature summation and open inventory survey; (2) making out the formal Preschoolers' Mental Quality Questionnaire for Completion by Teacher according to the initial one based on the theoretical structure model, the investigation and the analysis; (3) surveying on a large scale with the questionnaire for verifying the theoretical construction and identifying preschoolers' developmental characteristics of mental quality further. The following conclusions are involved:(1) the components of preschoolers' mental quality which can not be disintegrated into 3 specific domains such as cognition, behavior and emotion, contains 16 factors, such as self-confidence, self-control competence, emotion or feeling, self-determination, competence of imagination, competence of expression, competence of observation and...
