A Study On Cognate Words In Fang Yan Shu Zheng By DaiZhen

The research of cognate words in Fang Yan Shu Zheng is belong to the etymon field. In Fang Yan Shu Zheng, DaiZhen linked many cognate words by his theory that significations is from sounds and significations is on the basis of sounds. In this article, DaiZhen's achievement and insufficiency are elucidated while the rule of sounds and significations of cognate words are discussed.In 1^st chapter, the property and judging criterion of the cognate words are considerd. whereafter DaiZhen and his Fang Yan Shu Zheng are introduced in brief.The 2^nd chapter mainly introduces the theory and method which used in Fang Yan Shu Zheng, meanwhile summarized two clues and one approach by studying the history of cognate words.The 3^rd chapter recommends several types of cognate words, including the currency , the changed type and the same with others.The 4^th chapter studies the sounds of the cognate words. Including the term , the connotation and their sound rules.The 5^th chapter involves the significations of the cognate words. In this paper the significations of the cognate words are classified into four types.The 6^th chapter mention DaiZhen's achievements and insufficiency.
