Abstract: Lin Shu, a well- known but not knowing any foreign language' s translator in the literary world of modern times, depending on his special translating mode -. numerous translations and their far-reaching influence, takes up very important status in the Chinese literary history of the 20th Century. "Lin' s translating novels" have great influence on the development of Chinese literature and impel the course of Chinese culture' s modernization; and the influence and the impellent effect can be traced to the source of the psychologic complication which Lin Shu' s literary thoughts and the originals of these translated versions challenge and impact Chinese traditional cultural ideology and values, meanwhile accumulate and bourgeon modern cultural spirit. Therefore, seeing about Lin' s translating novels how to enable western spirit enter Chinese cultural circumstance and make Chinese cultural mentality change and also make modern values and cultural spirit bring into being is the problem' s sticking point. The thesis tries to start with some categories of Lin' s translations' literary utility and all his works' aesthetic quality to analyze and discuss the reason why Lin' s translating hovels possess special and important value so as to bring abroad and profound influence. And then, relying on analysing the love, adventure> ghost and monster, detective novels which structure the main body of Lin' s translations, explain particularly how the translations change Chinese traditional cultural mentality.
