The Phonetic Studies Of Zhanqiao Dialect In Linxiang County Hunan Province

The border dialect is one of the ticklers in dialect studies. Linxiang dialect has its features,because Linxiang County Hunan Province is located in the border of Hunan ,Hubei and Jiangxi.In order to fill the gap in the systemic studies of Linxiang dialect, I choose Zhanqiao Town as the representative in this paper to study Linxiang Zhanqiao dialect.This paper includes the following five parts:The introduction part shows us the geography and the population, the condition of language of Linxiang.It also introduces the present studies of Linxiang dialect and the emphasis and the main purpose of this paper.The first chapter describes the phonological system including initials,finals,tones and coordination relationships between the initials and finals.It also offers homosyllable units chart of Zhanqiao dialect.The second chapter describes and analyses the literary reading and colloquial reading and the layers of ponetics in Zhanqiao dialect.The third chapter is the comparison between phonological system of Zhanqiao dialect and Middle Age ponetics in initials,finals and tones.The fourth chapter describes the phonetic comparison between Zhanqiao,Changsha ,Shuangfeng and Nanchang in initials,finals and tones. It also analyses the relation between Zhanqiao dialect and Xiang dialect and Gan dialect.
