The writings of new immigrants become more and more important in overseas literature in the last 20 years. Yan Geling is one of the distinguished new immigrant writers.The unique life experiences especially the emigration experience is helpful for Yan Geling to have lots of chances to contact with plenty of marginal people and have profound psychological experiences. Further more, she is interested in psychology, she thinks much of the richness of humanity, so her novels strongly present the sense of poetic writing. Yan Geling writes in bilingual, she pays more attention to the essence of humanity, so all the nations can understand what she writes and easier to arouse a sympathetic chord. Making a general survey of Yan Geling's novels, we are not difficult to find that obsessed with the richness and complexity of humanity, Yan Geling has self-conscious quest for special humanity in extraordinary environment. Yan Geling is familiar with the theme of marginal people that is a good point to manage her narrative talents and express special humanity.Yan Geling writes lots of marginal people. Such as the emigrationsin different nations, the marginal people in feelings-homosexuals, thewomen herd soldiers who are oppressed their gender attribute. It's a risk to write special theme. Yan Geling pays equal attention to the stories and ideas, she endues the theme with profound meaning by the deep writing about humanity. Yan Geling also pays attention to correspond contents with forms, she is good at expressing special humanity by lots of narrative skills such as multi- structure, narrating the themes by elucidator, adding film elements in the novels.This thesis tries to systemic comment on the contents and forms of Yan Geling's works, interprets the signification of Yan for he development of Chinese literature.
