Songs that is translated had social and historic significance in the modern, cooperating with the development of the society to play social propaganda, social education function tightly. These songs are the form of music communication between Chinese and Western, and that had important influence to whole song creation development of our country. The purpose and meaning of this paper are probing into the historical value and social* function of translated songs, making more persons to understand translated songs, to continue developing this kind of song-type in the new century, to abundant people's cultural life, and to promote Chinese and western music cultural exchange.There have been practicing for a long time about translating the song in our country, but it was never summarized that the status ,social function and the theory of translating songs in social history.
