The study on The Book of Songs is utmost importance towards Zhu Xi and Dai Zhen's academic study of classics. The article compares their study of The Book of Songs in two terms those are annotation and collation and the discussion of poems primarily on basis of Zhu Xi's Shijizhuan, Shixubianshuo,Zhuziyulei and Dai Zhen's Maoshibuzhuan, Maozheng — shikaozheng, gaoxishijingbuzhu. I divide the article into three parts. First, I compare the annotation and the collation which include the principle of the annotation, the use of the ancient annotation, the extensive adoption of different opinions, the explanation of words in ancient book and the textual research and the collation. The second, I compare the discussion of poems that includes the manner towards Maoshixu, the interpretation of the meaning of poems and the view of love poems.
