Lyric, as a literary genre, first appeared during Sui and Tang Dynasties, became prosperous during Song Dynasties, and declined during Yuan and Ming Dynasties. Whereas, under special circumstances, it revived at the end of the Ming Dynasty, as was called the resurgence of the lyric. At that time, lyric was surprisingly pervasive. Almost all the poets turned to write the lyric. And all the people, who can read and understand some popular forms of the lyric, even women and children, can write the rhythmical songs combined with long and short sentences.Qing Dynasty was the period to summarize the traditional Chinese literature. This characteristic showed not only in academic field, but also in literary field. Under such social circumstances, lyric became incomparably prosperous. Whereas, there should be causes for its declination during Yuan and Ming Dynasties, as well as for its prosperity in Qing Dynasty. This thesis is devoted to discuss the causes of the formation of lyric's resurgence in Qing Dynasty. The thesis is divided into four chapters. Chapter one starts from the declination of the lyric in Yuan and Ming periods, the renaissance of the Lyric writing in Ming Dynasty and the influence of the Yunjian school to analyze the background of the prosperity of the Lyric in Qing Dynasty. Chapter two discusses the influence of Qing's cultural policy on the resurgence of the lyric in this period of time, through analysis of the high pressure of the Qing government on poetry and prose and the comparatively tolerance onlyric. Chapter three focuses on the impact of get-together parties and feasts of the literati on the resurgence of the lyric in Qing Dynasty. Chapter four mainly concentrates on the function of the prosperity of the lyric rends in the resurgence of the Lyric in Qing Dynasty. At last, the thesis makes a conclusion to the resurgence of the lyric in Qing Dynasty.
