Ji Yun is a knowledgeable scholar, famous fictionist, poet and literary critic in the middle of Qing dynasty. Due to gaining higher reputation in the real of catalog study, textual research and creation of the fiction of sketches, his achievements in the literary criticism, especially in the poetry criticism, is covered up. This text mainly discusses Ji Yun's poetic theory and poetry criticism.In this paper, the introduction introduces the condition and reasons about the subject. The first chapter explains Ji Yun's theory about change of poetry in such aspects as poetic style of ages, literary schools, poet's style and genres of poetry. Among those four aspects, the first is the most important one which is explored. He advocated that changes was the motivation of poetic development, and revealed the different stages of development of poetry, and each stage took on special characters of literature. He opposed to use a kind of fixed standards to review the literature of different ages. The second chapter explores the relationship between studying ancient works and changing, and explores Ji Yun's attitude about how to study ancient works and how to change. Concluding remark explores the characters of his poetry criticism.
