The discussion of modernity is an important topic in the 20th century. The core pursuit is giving people human nature, enabled individual to really become individual. Among all schools, Chinese New Sensation School is outstanding. Based on the research of the other scholars, this thesis analyzes the body view written by Chinese New Sensation School and modernity.Besides introduction, conclusion, this thesis is divided into four parts, analyzing the unique contribution of Chinese New Sensation School in the sought of modernity.Firstly, the thesis introduces the concept of Chinese New Sensation School. Japanese New Sensation School gives the strong influence to Chinese. The main representative figures are Shi zhecun, Liu Na'ou and Mu Shiying. Among them, Mu Shiying is the most outstanding in demonstrating the city of life.Secondly, the characteristic of city is demonstrated by the narration of the body view. We know their body view in the novels is a symbol of the modern city. The color, light, strength in the city are extremely outstanding, and such characteristic is lined with the body view. Meanwhile, such body view demonstrates the characteristic of consumption and the mixture of Chinese and Western culture.In the modern city, the body view appears the different characteristic. Why it can be the symbol of modernity? In the third part, the thesis analyzes some signs appearing in the transition from traditional to the modern society. Emphasizing ofthe body is one phenomenon that we can't avoid. Therefore, we can find out the inherent problems through the body view, such as the modern's disposition, values. It is the most important part in the modernity question too.In the fourth part, the thesis analyzes that body view is characteristic and we can know the meaning of modernity. Thus, which is the essence of modernity? The body view appears the desire of human exactly, therefore the entity of a person become clear and apparent too. On the other hand, the narration of body view pays attention to the present, and the thought of enjoying is popular. All of these are the unavoidable topics of the modernity.
