The Russia North-East Asia Strategy Of The New Century Is Seen From The Change Of The Petroleum Pipeline Trend Of Russia Far East

On the last day of 2004, Mikhail Fradkov, Russia premier Ministe , signed official document that Russia decided to build the Taishet-Nakhodka route, a petroleum pipeline through Taishet, a small town in Siberian, to Nakhodka, a seaport city along the Pacific. As a result, the petroleum export pipeline route in the Far East in Russia, which had caused great controversies both home and abroad, was initially decided. The decision, however, was not absolutely caused by the driving of economic interest; rather, Russia hoped the other North-East Asian countries could be introduced into Siberian and the Far East through the Taishet-Nakhodka route, and would carry out its interest both in economy and in geo-strategy in North-East Asia area. Compared with the others' projects of petroleum export in the Far East in Russia, the Taishet-Nakhodka route could somewhat embody the whole strategic policy of new century's Russia on the North-East Asia.This dissertation attempted to further explore the various disputes over the trend of the petroleum pipeline in the Far East in Russia by regarding the route as the main aspect of analysis. Meanwhile, the related theories and methods such as science of international relations, geo-strategy and economics and so on were also employed. Based on the others' researches, it was hoped that the writer's own understanding and interpretation on the new century's Russian strategy in the North-East Asia was given.
