Onomatopoeia can intimate the sound of the real world directly in a special prosody. It can make the language more vivid. Many languages have ideophone. There are great difference because of imitating one sound between different nations, different people who speak different languages. There are some similar relations between ideophone and real sound in different languages. Therefore, there are some same points there, but there are also some language structural restriction even having the most direct similar relation between the ideophone and reality.Both of Korean and Chinese have rich ideophone. Linguistics has studied ideophone a lot of their standard language. But they just consider the symbolic meaning of consonant and vowel meaning function of reduplication, vowels and harmony regulations. In Chinese, symbols and its ascription are the main point of studying.This paper will study the ideophone in 《BIG DICTIONARY of STANDARD KOREAN》 and ,《NORMAL DICTIONARY of MODERN CHINES E》 . According to the linguistics, try to find the same points and different points from ideophone phonetic formation structure to syntactic function and study ideophones in every field.The paper is divided into four parts. The first part is the introductory chapter. In the second chapter, ideophones in Korean and Chinese phonetic formation structures will be discussed. The content of the study is symbolic meaning of phonetics, sound shift, reduplication and phonetic formation. In the third chapter, there will be comparison between. Korean and Chinese ideophone in syntax.The content is syntagmatic and syntactic function of Korean Chinese ideophone. The fourth chapter is the conclusion.Through contrast between Korean and Chinese ideophone, there are obvious differences in phonetic formation structure. Such as, Korean reduplication can loop over the chapters, but there's no part reduplication in Chinese. In syntactic formation both of them have strong syntagmatic and syntactic function.The author hopes such bind of point of view can help to teach and study foreign languages and translate between Korean and Chinese and also can help to find some new regulations, to reveal the deep differences between Chinese ideophones.
