Socrates'Knowledge In Nature Study

Socrates, Athenian Greek in 5 B.C.,has been defined a distinguished philosopher by academic circles. He initiated the harbinger of Greek philosophy research from heaven to earth.His"Knowledge and Virtue",his"Questions and Answers" and his trial have been disseminated all over the world. In addition,his attribution in ethics is unique. However, all the above are only Socrates' partial achievements. At the back of his notable accomplishments in ethics is Socrates' ardent study in nature and his abundant nature knowledge, which has been overlooked by the world all along. On the basis of well verified historical data, I conclude from what Socrates himself said and the successors' explicit hints that he made earnest efforts to nature study in his youthhood. He mastered rich nature knowledge ,and the range touched upon mathematics, physics, medicine , astronomy, geolgy and methodology etc. Among these thoughts ,power and object ,pressure ,raining, thundering , lighting, health-care, sky balance structure and function, for instance ,are full of creativeness .Now that ,why have the academic circles not set to go deep into that ? I suppose the following three reasons: First, the effect of the traditional concepf'Socrates' interest not in nature ,but in human ." Second, the cover of accompliment in ethics. Third, the interference between "Socrates Question"and "Socrates' academic title".For the sake of reappearing Socrates' academic image more comprehensive and more rational ,I attempt to write the paper to make known of that.
