Western philosophy and Modernistic literature are, in a sense, for their deepened and ripened maturity in contemplating the order and notion of time, the production of time. From this point of view, we could fully apprehend the core of Modernism through observation of William Faulkner's cognizance of time in his Yoknapatawpha novels, specifically The Sound and the Fury, which marks the summit of Modernism. And in this sense, my paper will endeavor to trace this untraceable with this bewildered and bewildering master in his top Yoknapatawpha novel, The Sound and the Fury.
