This research divided surface similarity between the base problem and target problem into AC surface similarity and CD surface similarity in analogical reasoning. It adopted homemade analogical test to examine the developmental character of children aged 3 to 5 on analogical reasoning with high or low surface similarity.It included two experiments. The two experiments examined the effects of high or low surface similarity on children' analogical reasoning, and the developmental character under the condition of series present. Individual test was adopted. It showed that:1. As to analogical tasks of AC surface similarity, under both low surface similarity and high surface similarity , it is rapid for analogical reasoning from 3 to 3.5 years old, speedily grown-up from 3.5 to 4 years old, and slowly grown-up from 4 to 5.5 years old with little differences between each period.2.
