" oneness of man and nature " is an elementary proposition of China's traditional philosophy, and it is a basic spirit of China's traditional culture too. The thought of " oneness of man and nature " exerts deep influence on Chinese traditional painting. Probing into the relation between Chinese traditional painting and the thought of " oneness of man and nature ", has realistic meaning to the appreciation and creation of Chinese traditional painting,and to the national characteristic and era China's fine arts as well.Educational circles have been generally acknowledged the deep influence on China's aesthstic thought of" oneness of man and nature ". That the thought of" oneness of man and nature "embodiment at the painting have been mentioned by some scholars in China, but the argumentation does not form a intact system. This study attempts to through the investigation and of the theory of Chinese traditional painting, of the thought of oneness of man and nature ",the comparison with the western painting, probe into the influence of the thought on Chinese traditional painting aesthetic characteristic.Compared with western culture ,There exists the ultimate world view of " oneness of man and nature "in Chinese culture. On the cognitive mode and mode of thinking, ancient Chinese think that people and the universe are organic whole, universe and people have common " law ". There is different statement in each historical period in the thought of " oneness of man and nature ".
