In China, which is a traditional agricultural country, the land is the material base of agricultural production. During the War of Resistance against Japan, the Japanese army plundered the land without restraint and committed the unforgiving crime to the Chinese people. The land in Shanxi Province lost considerably during the War of Resistance against Japan because the province was the nerve center, in which Beifang Bureau and the Eighth Route Army directed the war in North China, and it had the favorable geographical position to threaten the security of Beiping and Tianjin by the Japanese army controlled. The thesis makes the incomplete statistics on the loss of the land in Shanxi Province, and analyses the influence on the agricultural ecology with the help of files and journals at the time. The thesis includes three parts: foreword, main body, and concluding remarks.Foreword makes a review of the study on the Japanese army's criminal acts, and points out the academic significance of the thesis.Main body makes the statistics and analyses on the loss of the land in Shanxi Province in three different aspects. The first aspect studies the invaded land for building series of military projects such as the blocked ditch, the blocked wall, pillbox, strongpoint and network of highways. The second studies the lost land where the Japanese army forced peasants to plant opium and cotton instead of planting wheat. The third studies the wasted land which resulted from the Japanese army plundering and destroying. The lost land had a vicious influence on the agricultural ecology. It caused the agricultural ecology disturbance. The survival environment of peasants was getting worse and worse. And the lost land resulted in the frequent natural disasters and the bankruptcy of the rural economy in Shanxi Province.Concluding remarks make a summation of the thesis.
