We can say that Shi zhecun is a leading character of "the Modernism"in 1930s.He inaugurated a brand new field by writing psychoanalysis novels which could be considered as reference for modern novel. At the same time, he has broad mind, wide horizon and novel poise and encouraged several new stars in modern literary world, such as Dai wangshu and Mu shiying. Three magazines he edited—Trolley Bus, New Art and Modern Times—provided most suitable soil for the developing of modernist poetry and novels. And two wonders of literary world appeared —modernist poetry school and modernist novel school. This article deliberately explains the relationship between Shi and "the Modernism"from two viewpoint—Shi as an actor and as an editor. The first part of the article discusses the influence and contribution shi , as an actor, brought to "the Modernism"by writing psychoanalysis novels. Mainly based on his three novels The General's Head, dusk in rain and The Kind Women's character, this part explains his experimenting exploration of psychoanalysis novels from both content and form. Focusing on sex psychology ,he made his writing penetrate into metropolis, long-buried history and human being's subconscious. By proscribing the pressed sexual desire, and showed his peculiar idea and explanation of humanity. Thus, he can be considered as the first writer of psychoanalysis novels in China. Seen from the view of his narrating skills, his works have double texts, the apparent one and implicated one. Just in the comparison of these two texts, he revealed completely his meditation about life, his search for complicated humanity and his deconstruction of traditional Buddhist and divine stories. Besides, he wrote from the angle of the third person which is a kind of limited narration. So he reduced the pressure of the environment description as much as he could and made characters'subjective awareness be expressed sufficiently. All of this is another kind of meaningful exploration. The second part, based on Trolley Bus, New Art and Modern Times, discusses as an editor, Shi gave important contribution and influence to "the Modernism".
