The Contrast Study Of The Imperial Clan Education In Ming & Qing Dynasty

This thesis has carried on comparative research to the relevant problem of imperial clan education in Ming and Qing Dynasties according to two stratums (the prince education and the distant imperial clan education). Through marshaling the historical process of the imperial clan education in Ming and Qing Dynasties, I thought the education system of imperial clan failed generally in Ming Dynasty: Ming Dynasty relatively paid attention to the prince education for the first time, But its development is retarded by "the incident of Jing Nan"; from Yongle to Hongzhi the prince education was developed slowly and meanwhile its system defect has already begun to appear; The prince education was extremely spoiled because of the disregard of the emperors of Zhengde & Jiajing; regarding "dispute of GuoBen " as the sign, the prince education was generally decayed to die in the Late Ming. The distant imperil clan education began relatively earlyin Ming Dynasty, But didn' t receive the ruler' s attention for a long time, hindered the imperial clan' s quality from training, caused the questions of the imperial clan to become a great suffering of the society at the end of Ming Dynasty. Imperial clan education formed the perfect system in Qing Dynasty and the better education result emerged: Even from Houjin period in Qing Dynasty the prince education had been paid attention to; after a transient stop in ShunZhi period it got tremendous development in Kangxi & Yongzheng periods, ultimately formed the prince education system which adapted to the system of "choose the heritage secretly" in Qianlong period, it was carried out strictly in the form of "domestic discipline" by the successive emperors until the latter stage of Qing Dynasty. On the other hand, the distant imperial clan education was paid much attention to, through setting up the imperial clan school, permitting the imperial clan to take part in the imperial examinations etc. means, Qing Dynasty carried on effective enlightenment and management, In the middle and later Qing Dynasty, the system of the imperial clan school was divorced from era gradually and was abolished finally. Why was there so much difference between Ming & Qing' s prince educations? I think the reason is that the Manchuria nobles' backward advantage in the culture, the different inherit systems and different choices of Ming and Qing Dynasties. And the reason for the distant imperial clan education of Qing Dynasty was superior to the Ming Dynasty lied in relatively less quantity of imperial clan and relative colonies of imperial clan.
