The Survey And Analysis On The Psychological Counseling And Guidance Needs Of College Student

Psychological counseling and guidance needs is a kind of personality trend when people face to unsolvable psychological questions, they have intention of seeking help from a variety of professional sources. The research aims at exploring structure of guidance and counseling needs; the concrete content of college students'counseling needs; their distribution and change in different genders and grades; the relationship between the acquaintance levels and counseling needs; which items are more urgent; the most needs type, and so on. The research tools are The Counseling Needs Assessment Scale for College Students which is compiled by researcher. The credibility and validity of the scale are analyzed and proved. Results show that they are appropriate for the study. A survey of 387 college students from 3 colleges of Dalian revealed that the guidance and counseling needs are consist of learning counseling needs, occupational counseling needs, self-cognitive counseling needs, interpersonal relationship counseling needs, problems counseling needs, adjusted temper counseling needs, loving counseling needs and philosophy counseling needs. The guidance and counseling needs of college students are between "little need"and "a little need"in the whole; their needs have difference in gender, males'is much more than females', especially for occupational counseling needs and loving counseling needs. Freshmen's and sophomores'are more than the other two, and sophomores'are bigger significantly than that of juniors'and seniors'in occupational counseling needs and loving counseling needs. The students who have the counseling experience have more counseling needs. The counseling style they need most is individual counseling, selective subject and lecture.
