The great plague named in Modern History broke out in Northeast China in 1910-1911, the plague affected Peking, Chili, Shantung and so on. About 60000 people died in this plague. It turned into the great destruction in Modern History in the end. The Chinese government reacted actively after epidemic and controlled the spread of epidemic situation finally with responding to western medicine and taking more modern measures. It promoted the establishment of public health workers and modern epidemic prevention. The Qing government held the International Plague Conference in Shenyang soon after the epidemic, which was the first symposium by the Chinese government. It raised the status of China in the scientific world and enhanced her political influence. The North Manchurian Plague Prevention Service founded in 1912 was the milestone in Chinese modern medicinal history. In this epidemic the populace and international society gave great support, too. Especially, the minds of populace had taken great change.This paper analyses the outbreak of this plague and reaction to it and their social influence with the theories of social history and Interdisciplinary research methods.
