In the background of economic globalization and our entrance into World Trade Organization, there will be a great need of those inter-disciplinary talents who not only possess sturdy professional knowledge and also grasp relevant foreign languages as well. But at the moment when the mechanism manifests the great drawback of the thinking of cultivation, the mode and assessing of the foreign language education of current university, every educator is confronted with the very urgent task of the reform in education of foreign language. The foreign language teaching of the agricultural universities faces the same predicament too: How to give play to the agricultural universities ' own professional advantage in new transition period, maximize favorable factors and minimize unfavorable ones, make proper adjustment to the foreign language teaching in order to train the inter-disciplinary talents who meet our era's needs?This essay under the theory of the foreign language teaching combines the experience and lessons of the foreign language education of our country, has chosen such five representative high agricultural universities- Nanjing Agricultural University, Northwest Sci-tech University of Agriculture and Forestry and South China Agriculture University, etc. Right as the objects being analyzed of the present agricultural universities students' foreign language teaching current situation to find out the deficiency and drawback of the high foreign language teaching of agricultural universities; and through the survey of the demand for the graduate's foreign language abilities of agricultural universities and the appraisal and suggestion of the employers on the agricultural universities talents' foreign language level, has offered the comparatively reliable objective basis for the reform of college English of agricultural universities. And then the essay carries on the positive research to the foreign language teaching of Huazhong Agricultural University, analyses the case in depth, and draws enlightenment from it.This essay lays emphasis on the training of renewal of the idea, the renewal of the setting of the course , the building of the teaching material, the updating of the teachers' strength as the important link, connects the two subjects of teaching- the teacher and student as the key content, the bridge of connecting the two-teachingmethod, and combines the characteristic of the agricultural universities to design the feasible reform structure, and try hard to set up a kind of more rational and more valid learning aid evaluation system on this basis.
