Chinese traditional culture of filial piety is an important and special part of Chinese traditional culture. Though its positive influence is great, the negative aspect of the effect can not be neglected meanwhile.This thesis studies not only on the contents of filial piety in order to eliminate the draff, extract the pith, but also on its history of evolvement in order to find some rules. The aim is to make the past serve the present .The causes on the evolvement of Chinese traditional culture of filial piety are many, but such as the especial pattern of family, the patriarfeudual clan system and the propaganda and support of the dynast or the lord. These factors result in the dissimilation of its meanings. Because of its dissimilation, the fierce animadversion comes forth in the modern history. However, with the development of our society, we still need the filial piety.We should be up against some confused problems on filial piety in our society nowadays. The thesis analyses the confusion and gives several reasons, for example, the negative impacts of market economy, the imperfects of our education, the change of the pattern of family and so on.Because it is very significant to reconstruct the new culture of filial piety in an epoch, the article gives some measures, for example, advance the productivity; enforce the propaganda and moralize the young and so on, of reconstruction on the new standards of filial piety in an epoch.
