Theoretical Exploration And Empirical Study Of Filial Piety

Filial piety is one of the most important psychology and behavior among Chinese people. Firstly, from the theory, the paper analyzed the definition, manifestation, classification and feature of filial piety and also described the differences and reasons between Chinese and Western filial piety. Then, the research analyzed the origin and mental mechanism of filial piety, including the internal mental mechanism and the external mental mechanism. Lastly, the paper explored the positive function and negative influence of filial piety, in order to help people know more about filial piety.From the empirical research and through the questionnaire survey, the study explored the current situation of contemporary Chinese filial piety psychology, finally found that the contemporary Chinese people still attached importance to filial piety. At the same time, there are large differences between the contemporary filial piety and the traditional filial piety, and the former had more contemporaneity. With the social development, the filial piety appears dilemma situation.Through the interview method and the questionnaire survey, the research explored the three models of solving the dilemma situation among contemporary college students, including the successful procreation, ambition inheritance and serving the parents, and found that students adopted the balanced models in the successful procreation and serving the parents, and the utilitarian models in the ambition inheritance. Used Logistic regression analysis, the paper found the education background of parents and the numbers of sisters and brothers both have extremely important influence on solving the dilemma situation of the filial piety.
