The dissertation is a monograph on the I-Ching-study ideology of LaiZhide, who is very famous for his annotation on I-Ching during the middle-late period of Ming dynasty . The dissertation probes into the Annotation of I-Ching ,the representative work of Lai's I-Ching ideology , and refers to many other writings of Lais'. The dissertation , based on the Lai's claim which argues that the Image-Number be united with the Connotation in I-Ching , mainly expounds the metaphysical basics , the theory of Image and the motif of Lai's ideology on I-Ching . The author discusses and evaluates the three categories , based on the history of the Chinese-Philosophy and the Study on I-Ching in the middle-late period of Ming dynasty. The Introduction explores the backgrounds of society and the whole situation of the theoretical realm at that time , In which the theory of Lai's came into being ,points out the defects in the study on the Lai's ideology on the I-Ching and expounds my own views . In Chapter One , the author explores the views of Lai in his late life .So it makes a hard basics for studying Lai's constructing his I-Ching ideology . In the Chapter , the author also points out that there are two typical features in Lai's ideology on I-Ching . One is the absorbing and suspending the others' annotations on I-Ching , the another one is the unity of Image-Number and connotations. In Chapter Two , the author expounds the metaphysical basics of Lai's ideology on I-Ching . The author claims that the metaphysical basics is the Lai's theory on the unity of Li-Qi(理气) . The author points out the importance of the theory in the history of Chinese-Philosophy . The author argues that the theory of Li-Qi ,which claims that Li(S) lodges at the Qi and matter of our universe and is shown by them , determines that Connotations must be lodge at the Image-Number and shown by the Image-Number . So Lai argues naturally many point views ,such as Connotations lodge at the Image, human can imagine Connotations by the Image , Connotations and the Number are joined together , and so on . So the author deducts that the theory of Li-Qi is the metaphysical basics of Lai's ideology on the I-Ching.The Chapter Three is mainly about Lai's theory of the Image . In the Chapter , the author expounds the definition of the Image , the formats of Image , and Lai's claim which says that one cannot talk about I-Ching if without the Image . The author argues that Lai's definition on the Image is Emblem . The formats of the Image compose the Cuo(错), Zong(综), Bian(变) and Zhongyao(中爻). The author assumes that the theory of the Image builds a hard basics for his claim of the unity of the Image-Number and the Connotations .The Lai's theory of the Image makes a huge influence on the studying of I-Ching after the death of Lai Zhide. The Chapter four expounds the motif of Lai's I-Ching ideology . Lai Zhide argues that Zhenyi(贞一) is the motif of the I-Ching . Everyone studying the Lai's I-Ching ideology seems blind to the Zhenyi(贞一) . The theory of Zhenyi(贞一) demands that human should adhere to Li(理) and prohibit and clear off the thoughtless desires. The theory of the Zhenyi(贞一) comprises many important contents of the discipline on the Li(理) . At last , the dissertation holds forth a compendious synthetic criticism.
