The idea about Sustainable Development and the strategic steps of it vary fromcountry to country. It is not only widely adopted by developed countries but also paidmuch more attention to by developing countries. Meanwhile, based on SustainableDevelopment which should meet the needs of different fields, correspondent aidedanalysis tools are developed in order to analyze effectively the sustainability of thedesign of products and their packaging. This paper takes the packaging design as its subject and investigates the problemswhich go against Sustainable Development by analyzing various tools oflifecycle-analysis favorable to Sustainable Development. On the basis of soundanalysis of the lifecycle problem, the humanism lifecycle analysis of METB is stronglyproposed by means of MET matrix analytical method which is a quite simple andconvenient one currently.METB focuses on the harmonious development between human and nature, oriented to human interests. In the analysis of packaging lifecycle, different demandson the whole lifecycle of packaging by various social groups are mainly discussed andexamined comparatively, as well as the analysis of input and output of the wholelifecycle of packaging. It is from the premises that the interests of various socialgroups are to be met that the lifecycle of sustainable packaging are analyzed anddesigned accordingly. This paper applies METB to analyze and evaluate sustainable packaging designwith the consideration of material and structure of packaging design. The wholesustainable buffer packaging of the mini-type home electric appliances is designed inlight of social groups' benefit and the renting service network. Through evaluation andanalysis, it is revealed that METB offsets the lack of consideration of humanism in theapplication of MET, thus making the sustainable design to meet the demands of varioussocial groups' benefits and making various social groups or communities realize thesustainable development of packaging.
