Based on the researches of location cues before, the paper studies, in Three-dimensional space, the relationship which is between the perception characteristics of sound loction and an analysis of location cues. Two experiments are conducted in this study. The fist experiment studies the perception characteristics and ability of sound loction in horizontal plane and median plane. The second experiment studies the location cues in horizontal plane and median plane and role of location cues in sound location. Main conclusions of this research are listed as following:(l)The performance of sound loction in horizontal plane are better than those in median plane.(2) In horizontal plane, interaural differences cues(including ILD and ITD)are factors that influence the judgement of azimuth.(3) In horizontal plane, spectral shapes between adjacent locations are similar. And the characteristics of spectra (including height of wave crest s depth of wave trough and their locations) will change along with changes in azimuth gradually. (4)In median plane, heads auricle, body can filter the sounds from different elevations and result in the different characteristics of spectra in sound waves. Those characteristics of spectra are the bases of judgement of elevation. (5)Compared with the different characteristics of spectra produced by heads auricle, body, interaural differences cues have no effects on sound location in median plane.,...
