Graphic creativity, as a very important foundational course in design art courses system, is valued by many domestic design colleges increasingly, especially in the last few years new theories have been created and new practical fruit yielded in this field. However, researches that take students as the main body of teaching activities and focus on the contents and training methods of graphic creativity is rear in the research field and many studies remain on the surface of the questions concerned.Graphic creativity course is set up as foundational course of design art in some design colleges, and some other colleges take the course as the foundational course of vision communication major. The writer holds that in spite of the different natures of the course in different course systems, the thinking methods of graphic creativity are in common, the difference lies in the contents of training. The main focus of this study is the theoretical research combined with teaching practical researchconcerning the matter of graphic creativity thinking training from the view point of vision communication major and the cultivating of the qualified talents in design and with an injection of new concepts in the theoretical foundation, teaching contents and training methods of this course. An experimental teaching with the methods in research is finished.The dissertation consists of two main parts: theoretical elaboration followed by an experiment in graphic creativity classroom, and is constituted by eight parts of contents. The preface of the paper is a brief review to the local research condition and an introduction to the research background and value of this research.Comprehension of the connotation of graphic and graphic creativity is the precondition of the research, which determines the depth and the width of the research and the accuracy of the research direction as well. Therefore, Chapter One describes the comprehensive understanding of graphic from a variety of aspects with the definition of the graphic creativity. From the angle of the human history development, the different comprehensions of human beings in their different stages in life, the dissertation inquires into the close relation between human and graphic.Chapter Two makes a deep analysis of the substance and connotation of creativity thinking, with a study of important thinkingforms in graphic creativity such as collecting thinking and dispersing thinking, claiming that graphic is a vision expression of language and graphic creativity is the expression of one's thinking process. It also-points out that in concrete graphic creativity practice it can not be coped with a certain thinking mode, the creativity thinking is a state that there is no set thinking method in any cases.Chapter Three explains the importance of the training methods of the graphic creativity thinking in the courses systems of design art majors. On the one hand, it points out the common characteristics of creativity thinking in the design art, on the other hand, it also states the important roles and differences of graphic creativity in vision communication design, environmental art design, the industry production shape design and animation design.Chapter Four casts its focus on the cultivating of graphic creative thinking, discussing the ways in which designers absorb their nutrition in creativity and where their inspiration comes from and describing the nutrition prescription for cultivating graph creative thinking.Chapter Five, which is the conclusion drew from the writer's teaching experience for almost a decade, builds a bridge between the former parts and the latter. Some concrete strategies in graphic creativity classroom are listed in this part, and discussion about how to enlighten students' creative thinking, how to cultivate students' interest in thiscourse and how to conduct a happy student-teacher interaction in classroom are made. This chapter also offers the theoretical base for the following chapter.Chapter Six puts the contents of graphic creativity into classroom practice, making a great many achievements, which can be used to test the practicability of these training methods of graphic creative thinking.The appendix of the dissertation includes the reaction of students after participating in the training, which reflects the feelings of students in the process of the training.Chapter Seven makes a conclusion of this study, meanwhile provides some suggestions for further study.Having an intensive consideration of students' feeling after the theoretical research in this course with the examination of the practice offers us the theoretical foundation and practical experience for the further study in this field.
