Since its birth, Cooperative Learning (CL) gradually becomes a world-wide, creative,and actual effective teaching theory and strategic learning method, which is widely used inForeign Language Teaching. However, the reform on College English Teaching is still in theirinfancy. The present research, therefore, intends to apply CL to this field, aiming atinvestigating and guiding the College English Teaching (CET).The author has chosen students from two sophomore classes in North China ElectricPower University, one as Control Class, and the other one as Experimental Class. Duringsixteen weeks' study, the results of tests and questionnaires are used to measure whether CLcan affect the students' learning achievements, learning habits, and students' psychology;whether CL can improve CET atmosphere.
