We can say, the formation andexpression of the hedonism in China today have traits of modern times. From thehappening and development of the hedonism trend of thought in recent one or twodecades, we can see, at first, hedonists are in pursuit of individual happiness andpleasure, then in the course of market economy hedonism is companied withconsumerism, utilitarianism and even to the extent that it is labeled as materialismafter 1990,s. In the beginning of new century, hedonists are hurrying up to connectenjoyment with promoting consumption or production and they even attempt toequate enjoyment with enterprising.However, when we look back on the course of the development of hedonism inforeign countries and the history of the enjoyment in China, we could find the traitsof class character, dual harm, common views and others in its development and thesetraits of the hedonism are apparent. At the same time, the life style of hedonism hasalready harmed the body and mind of someone seriously. Therefore, in our societywhich aim to achieve the happiness of everyone, the way of life of hedonism is not inharmony with the view of scientific development and the magnificent goal of thewhole society in which everybody can lead a relatively comfortable life, let alone ourcountry is in even will in the primary stage of socialism a long time.Goods and materials in our country are not so rich that everyone can takesomething in the light of his needs. So, no matter at present or in the long futuresociety, we shall not throw away the style of hard struggle and plain living, even ifour country would have plenty of goods and materials in the future, we should selectthe way of life which is health and civilization but not the hedonism, for the latter notonly harm the individual, but also bring the disaster to our country and nation in thelong run. That is why everyone today who has long views should get rid of the viewsof life of hedonists.
