The Study On Resolution Of Semantic Paradox

In the early 1930s, the research emphasis of logic paradox was transferred gradually from set theory paradox to semantic paradox. Semantic paradox and its resolution have become the field that many scholars focus on. Firstly, this dissertation introduces some important theoretical foundation, such as definition, types of paradox, character, the RZH criterion for paradox resolutions, types of semantic paradox and the reason for the various generations of semantic paradox. On the basis of this, this dissertation scales, analyzes and values the classical paradox resolution scheme and non-classical paradox resolution scheme by the RZH criterion for paradox resolutions, and reveals the advantages and disadvantages of these paradox resolutions. Dialectical philosophy explores the root of semantic paradox with dialectical thinking, revealing that the root of semantic paradox is the contradiction between the dialectical unity of opposites structure of the concrete objects themselves and the separability that human's thought can not get rid of. Thereout, this dissertation studies the problem of semantic paradox resolution in "transcending contradictory world" which is a space-time unitive and four-dimensional logical system, namely, holding the semantic paradox by the dialectical unity of opposites thinking. But the study of this dissertation on semantic paradox resolution can not establish a perfect paradox resolution yet, and it needs to be deepened and developed constantly. Moreover, semantic paradox is not the ordinary logical contradiction or the dialectical contradiction, but is the intermediate between the logical contradiction and the dialectical contradiction, so the semantic paradox can not be eliminate simplely as the ordinary logical contradiction. Therefore, the resolution of semantic paradox needs a long and continuous process of exploration and research.
