The period of the end of the 19th centry is a transformation from romanticism music to modernism .Rakhmaninov still insisted on the creative style of romanticism. I found the most existing researches of Rakhmaninov' s piano prelude concentrating on the analysis of the prelude per se and the shape of structure. Most of them ignored that historical entironment and social culture modality has a influence on the composing and the art style of Rakhmaninov' s piano prelude. I try to analyse Rakhmaninov' s piano prelude and it's music connotation basing on social history and noumenal art ,and I want to get a academic gist of performance guidance. There are five chapters in my article. The first chapter pointed out the springboard of research and brief introduced the Rakhmaninov' s piano prelude. The second chapter expounded the definition and history of piano prelude , Rakhmaninov' s life experience and brief introduction of all his works. The third chapter summarized the correlative backgrounds of his all creations and pointed out the status of prelude in history of piano art and his all works. This part provided a academic foundation for the foliowings .Based on the researches in chapter 1 and 2. the fourth chapter roundly analysed the characteristic of Rakhmaninov' s piano prelude through large numbers of music scores in six aspects. This part is the keystone of whole article. The fifth chapter is the end .The bigest trait of this article is that it taked the basic knowledge of prelude and the music connotation knowledge of culture and philosophic in idiographic social period into the research of Rakhmaninov ' s piano prelude. It broadened the academic understanding of Rakhmaninov' s piano prelude, so it had ainstructional meaning and practical meaning in performance.
